That's Not a Cookbook!

Cindy: My secretary's daughter, Jenny, one of our avid BBYA teen members, has set a goal of reading all of the BBYA 2009 nominations (224) this year. She's still chipping away at them and apparently found another way to use the cookbook stand while she was on dinner duty Friday night. Doesn't she look like a good BBYA member? When I served on the committee I turned all cooking over to my husband and daughters and am happy to let them continue whenever they want. I haven't read Gone by Michael Grant yet...have you? I'm closing in on the end of The Knife of Never Letting Go and can't turn the pages fast enough.

I completely understand why she didn't want to put down Gone. It is a fabulous book. I couldn't put it down, and I'm not a sci fi/fantasy person.

I have Jenny in class, and I've noticed that she is an avid reader. I just didn't know how much!

Very impressive, Jenny! :)

I was asked to review Gone, by Michael Grant. This was an amazing book, one that i didn't want to put down. Gone was an amazing book that pulled me into it's story to the point that the world around me ceased to exist, leaving only the FAYZ and the children in it. An amazing book for anyone who doesn't mind losing sleep to reading.

I haven't read GONE yet, but that's a great goal to read all the BBYA nominees!! And GONE is definitely on my PCTBR list (Post-Cybils To Be Read). :)

Yes! You were awesome with our teens! There was a great article about you just this Sunday in the GR Press. Congratulations.

Lisa--WAKE has been incredibly popular with our teens, not just the BBYA members who met you. We'll let them know that FADE is coming soon. They'll be thrilled. Thanks for the virtual visit here.--Cindy

She is SO me when I was younger. I've had Gone on a TBR list forever... maybe after the Cybils I'll get to it.

I feel likewise about Gone. For some reason, I didn't want to like it, but couldn't help but like it. And I know at least one teen who is notorious for not finishing novels, but she finished Gone!
